My helicopter succsess count is ( 25 in the Sosnovka area, 16 in Zelenegorsk, 21 in Pogarevka, 8 NWAF, 3 in Vyshnoye, 23 at Green Mountain, and 18 at the Vavilovo/ Lapitino area) You are more likely to find a US heli crash than a Russian MI-8. The MI-8's spawn: SMERSH vests, AK-47's, AKS-74U's, PSO-1 scopes, PM-73RAK's + Mags, and a bunch of other sweet Russian military gear. Remember that MI-8 helicopters have no smoke, so keep your eyes peeled. Its risky to search there for heli crashes anyway because it is so high traffic. Adding a new economy that encourages you to buy and sell new items is a great way to freshen up gameplay and add a little life to the barren wastes of Chernarus and Livonia. I rarely see heli crashes on the NW airfield, even though it has 8 possible spawn locations. Sometimes the rinse repeat cycle of DayZs survive, scavenge, and shoot zombies gets a little tiring. Search these towns/citys and you are almost guaranteed to find one or two or maybe even three. Zelengorsk has 3, Pogarevka/ Pulovo has 6, and Vavillovo/ Laptino has 6.
